Burial and Cremation - Dublin
One of the most important and difficult decisions of a funeral is whether the deceased will be buried or cremated.
Burial
Our burial service in Dublin gives two options:
- The first option is to re-open an existing grave as long as there is enough space for another coffin for the burial.
- Purchasing a new grave for the burial of a loved one is the 2nd option. Our funeral directors here in Dublin will do all the work including contacting the cemetery on your behalf to arrange a new grave.
There is a difference in cost of burial and cremation at McElroy`s funeral directors in Dublin. If a new grave needs to be purchased for a burial then you will expect the difference in cost to be quite significant.
Cremation
When enquiring about cremation you must first ensure that all statutory requirements are achieved. Prior to cremation occurring, forms must be filled by medical referee`s who must be happy that the deceased was inspected before and after passing away. All medical certificates must be filled out accordingly stating that there is no obvious reason as to why cremation can`t take place here in Dublin.
All crematoria provide chapel or several chapels in Dublin whereby a small service can take place. Families and friends can supply CD`s which can be played during the cremation.
